The baor (storage chest/trunk)is one of the unique and distinct cultural products of the Maranao (also called Meranaw) people. It is made using premium hardwood and adorned with intricate handcarved okir designs and mother-of-pearl inlay. The baor is a testament to the excellent craftsmanship and stunning artistry of the Maranaos.
Tugaya is the center of traditional Maranao arts and crafts and home to many artisan families.
