Collection: Tausug Collection

This collection features the intricate woven fabrics of the Tausugs, the native inhabitants of Sulu island province in the southwest part of Mindanao. The name Tausug is derived from the words tau (people) and sug (current) and they are one of the largest Muslim ethnolinguistic groups in the Philippines. The Tausugs are proud bearers of a valiant history, vibrant culture and traditions, including their exquisite weaving, embroidery, carving, mat making, and other visual arts, set amidst the backdrop of Sulu's breathtaking natural beauty.
